A film format is a technical definition of a set of standard characteristics regarding image capture on photographic film, for either stills or movies. It can also apply to projected film, either slides or movies. The primary characteristic of a film format is its size and shape.

In the case of motion picture film, the format may also include audio parameters (though often not). Other characteristics usually include the film gauge, pulldown method, lens anamorphosis (or lack thereof), and film gate or projector aperture dimensions, all of which need to be defined for photography as well as projection, as they may differ.

Where can I get a 4x5 format film camera and is there a Digital version of this as well?
Q. I am asking because I am getting pretty serious about photography and I know that Film is going out but I want to know where I can find a nice 4x5 format camera that will shoot color and B&W film, if I can even get color film still for this format, and is there a digital form of a 4x5 format camera? I am planning two series for the spring and am hoping to have them by then. Also where can I buy the film online for a good price, besides ebay? Thanks art man. I know I was searching for 4x5 and they are spendy, however I want to go pro and I know that I want to try the 4x5 format. My teacher is going to do an independent study with me next quarter and I am planning two series. I know that film beats digital. It is going to get harder to find… [cont.]

A. The best place to get a large format camera whether it is 4x5 or 8x10 is keh.com or camerawest.com. My personal suggestion is keh.com for their excellent service and great prices. Regarding the film you shouldn't have any problems purchasing it at any well stocked professional photography shop, and because of the 4x5's view cameras unique features and capabilities film will be available for a very long time. However, to answer your question indeed there are digital backs for 4x5 cameras but they are currently out of the price range for average consumers some ranging in price from around $10,000- $30,000+. Of course these digital backs offer far greater performance than your ordinary digital slr in terms of color and megapixels (usually… [cont.]

Where is a good place to get film developed in New York City?
Q. I've decided to start taking photos with my old 35 mm film camera instead of my digital camera. Where is a good place to get the film developed? I want a place in between low-end (drugstore) and high-end (for pro photographers). I would like a larger print with white borders. I'm using b&w film, if this makes a difference. Eventually want to get a medium format film camera. Thanks.

A. A rar file is a compressed file. Download winrar 3.71 from this link: then right click the file, and hit extract. Note: It says it's a trial... but it never really ends.
